Vibratory Stress Relieving Technique:
The mechanical energy in the form of vibration is introduced into the stress component, in a low frequency range, at resonance of the workpiece. The workpiece are subjected to low frequency, high amplitude vibrations for short period of time based on the weight of the work piece. This allows the residual stresses to be reduced to a much lower level where static equilibrium is restored.
Process :
In Vibratory Stress Relieving technique an electromechanical vibrator, is used with the electronic consol and the ‘C’ clamps. The stressed component is isolated with wooden blocks or tire casings from the ground and the vibrator is securely clamped on the work piece. Mechanical energy in the form of vibration in low frequency range is introduced into the stress component from the vibrator, and the vibrators speed is then regulated from the electronic console. This applied energy realigns the lattice to stress relieve and stabilize the part without distortion.
Advantages of VSR :
- * The equipment is portable and can be easily brought to the job for stress relieving.
- * This machine can be used for any size, shape, or configuration upto single job of 150tons.
- * Transportation & material handling of your jobs are avoided.
- * Metallurgical properties like tensile strength, hardness of the component are not disturbed.
- * The process is very fast & clean & free from discoloration, slag & scale.
Applications :
This method can be used on wide range of ferrous and non – ferrous metals. Typical materials are: Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Cast Iron etc, wide variety of shapes and sizes from small casting, shafts, gears or even large welded and machined fabrication and Small parts, too light for the vibrators weight, are grouped together and stress relieved in union.
